How to jump to a specific location on a page on your website

You can jump to a specific location on your web page by linking a sub-menu item to a text anchor on the page. This feature is very helpful when reviewing a lengthy page on your site with many sections, such as a long review page containing several items.

This is a two-part process. First, you’ll want to create a submenu link from the parent menu of any page on your site. The second part is to create the actual anchor on the same page at the spot you want to jump to. Place the anchor text at the beginning of the line where you want to start reading after you jump.

Create Sub-menu Link

1. Log on to your dashboard and go to the navigation builder (Appearance > Menu)
2. On the left hand side find the “Customs Links” section and click the down arrow.
3. In the URL box remove the http:// and replace it with #Anchor. (Can be any word of your choice)
4. In the label field type the name of the submenu (Example: Submenu1)
5. Click “Add to Menu”. To add the text to the menu.
6. On the right side you will see the new submenu text at the bottom. Click to select it with your mouse and drag it slowly over to the right until it snaps into place as a child link underneath the parent menu.
7. Click “Save” to save the menu changes.

Create Anchor Text Link

1. Go to your dashboard and click on pages.
2. Select the same page to which you added the sub-menu link and Click the Edit box.
3. Go to text mode.
4. Locate the spot on the page where you want to place the anchor text.
5. Enter : (If you want to jump to the start of a section, you should place the anchor text in front of the section header).
6. Click “Update” to save the changes to your website.
7. Click on “View Page”
8. Hover your mouse over the Parent menu and you will see the new Submenu1 item. Click on it to jump to the anchor text.
